1. This above all to thine own self be true. Do not randomly develop opinions, pretend that they're truths, and then foist your way upon the world. Rather, pursue truth and embrace it wherever and whenever you come upon it, and have it be your way. Do not wait for times of crisis to become a truth-seeker; this will not work. Spend leisure time in its pursuit.
2. Throughout your life, daydream often and develop a vivid imagination. Use truth to guide you. Let nobody, no matter who they think or say they are, tell you to do otherwise. They will want you to think as they do, via random and pedantic opinion, which not coincidentally isn't thinking at all. Use your imagination, guided by truth, to become a real thinker. Also allow for some complete quiet time. The better you can quiet your mind the better you will be able to think.
3. Live all your days with loving kindness. Give it generously and receive it graciously. Be aware that love is an emotion, but you must make it more. For you, love must be a behavior.
4. Learn and implement humanity via "The Golden Rule." That is, treat all others as you would like all others to treat you. All others means all others, two legs, four legs or 100 legs - without exemption. Do not follow. Do not lead. Be your own master, guided by truth and allow all others this same individual sovereignty. Be a shining example of how it can be.
5. Be happy. Sometimes you will have to work at it, but just be happy. Spend some time doing things you enjoy. Pursue a full and varied menu of things from which you derive joy and happiness, but never at another's expense. Further, do not, even once, believe you can outfit yourself with happiness purchased from a shopping mall. This is an illusion. Happiness resides within you.
6. Serve others. "Others" always includes the wordless and the weak. In fact, the greatest in need will need you the greatest. Find ways to best utilize your service. Service to others, especially animals, is the very meaning of life.
7. All throughout your life be fit. Walk whenever possible. It is difficult, if not impossible, to have a sound mind with an unsound body.
8. Shun notions of perfection. Pursue excellence.
9. Revere the Universe and tread lightly upon the Earth. They contain the ashes of your grandmothers.
10. Be vegan. Live life and allow others this same universal drive. Others should not be ordained to suffering or to death simply because you live; this would be a great violation of your dominionship. Veganism is the common denominator, free from any hypocrisy, of truth, love, humanity, happiness, service to others, fitness and reverence.
You must understand that doing all these things for your own good is not how you should live. Yes, you will find you have done yourself a great favor, but ironically not the reason to do them.
